TONY DE VOS

PRESIDENT

Love for Learning

Born in Eindhoven, Holland in 1948, de Vos immigrated to the United States at the age of 13. After graduating from La Salle High School in Sierra Madre, California, he earned a degree in Business Administration and Information Systems from California State University in Los Angeles.

Humble Beginnings

After working at different firms including Bank of America, de Vos joined Cardinal Laboratories. At the time there were only a handful of employees so de Vos knew he would have to build a strong team in order to succeed.

People are Paramount

De Vos attributes much of Cardinal Pet Care’s success to the people who work there. “I want to give credit where credit is due. My management team and all my employees are qualified to do their jobs and they do them well. I feel confident that my people are watching out after their company. It’s important to them too.”

TERRY MORAN

VP OF OPERATIONS

Terry attended Western Michigan University and obtained his B.S. in Education. He has over 40 years of experience in Business Operations and Business Management overseeing critical business functions including product development, shipping and receiving, purchasing and customer service. Some of Terry’s previous roles include V.P. of Operations at Pet Jerky Factory, DMM Regional Buying Sam’s Club/Wal-Mart and Director of Operations at Sam’s Club. His favorite part about working at Cardinal is getting to lead the product development team. And of course Terry’s favorite animal is a dog.

RICK FOSTER

VP OF SALES

Rick has his B.S. in Finance from the University of Oregon and completed Northwestern University’s Executive Scholar Marketing program. Rick has over 35 years of consultative sales experience including his previous position as Manufactures Representative for Pet Supplies. He was also the Sales Manager for ITW-Signode a packaging equipment and supplies company and at General Binding Corp., a binding and laminating equipment company. Rick’s 24 years of responsibility at Cardinal include increasing sales and profit while managing costs. His favorite part about Cardinal is being able to work with a great team to develop innovative products for pets. His favorite pet is a dog.

TOM WIEN

VP OF MARKETING

Tom attended the University of Texas at Austin where he received his B.A. in Business Finance and then attended the Wharton School where he gained an MBA in Marketing. Tom has been in the consumer packaged goods industry for more than 20 years, and received his first exposure to retail as a 16 year-old. Tom started his career working with consumer goods companies including Procter and Gamble, Taco Bell and Avery Dennison where he developed more than 10 patents and 25 brands. At Cardinal, he focuses on strategy, brand development and messaging. His dog Molly is a passionate user of Cardinal grooming products.

KERISSA KELLY-SLATTEN

DIGITAL MARKETING MANAGER

Kerissa attended the University of Arizona on an academic scholarship where she obtained her B.S. in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. After working in France Kerissa returned to the States to attend CSULB where she graduated with top honors and earned her Masters in Business Administration (MBA). The program’s emphasis on sustainability prepared Kerissa for her role leading the Green Team at Cardinal Pet Care. Kerissa grew up with horses, bunnies, chickens and lots of cats and dogs and now brings her 4 year old pup named Myrtle to the Cardinal office.

PAUL SHILLING

NATIONAL SALES MANAGER

Paul holds a B.S. degree from Old Dominion University. In his tenure with Cardinal over the last 10 years, Paul has been involved in many aspects of their business sharing his 40 years of experience to assist Cardinal in competing successfully in all trade channels. Paul currently manages the sales force and many of the major customers, identifying the needs and means to reach mutual growth goals. A tireless worker with a passion for what he does, Paul reflects that passion in his daily activities and takes pride in inspiring others to successful action.

MANNY RODRIGUEZ

GRAPHIC DESIGN MANAGER

Manny Rodriguez attended UC Cal Poly Pomona where he majored in Computer Information Systems. Concurrently, his interest in visual arts led him to graphic design courses at Art Center College of Design and Platt Design College where he later taught computer graphics and desktop publishing on a part-time basis. Manny worked in Hollywood as an art director for various independent film distributors, most notably Hemdale Film Studio. Today he works for Cardinal Labs as the Graphic Design Manager, where he has been employed for 16 years.
